Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just got my iPad and am confused as how to get Push Email for my Gmail account.

I set up my Gmail through the mail app using "Gmail".
I go to settings > mail, contacts, calendars
Fetch New Data reads "Push"
However, when I click advanced > username@gmail.com says Fetch

Is there anyway to instantaneously receive e-mails (push) from Gmail on the iPad?

Thanks.

Do not choose "Gmail" but choose "Exchange".
