Push Notifications for Apple Messages Not Working on Mavericks

I'm not getting push notifications to work for Apple Messages on my rMBP. They work just fine on my iPod Touch, but they only sporadically show up on my Mac (even if Messages is open). I've tried toggling everything I could think of, any ideas?
