I have a Seagate personal cloud NAS. I have media on there that is shared on my home network. Pled app works great on the Apple TV’s around the use and smart TV’s.

However the NAS runs all day when not needed. Is there an app, or way to leave it off until needed as the location of it now is in earshot and can hear it all the time.

I’ve been on to Seagate who have just ignored my emails and requests for support.

It has a web interface that you can install certain apps on, also manually so presume can add an app if it’s compatible.

Thanks

If inside the web of personal NAS you didn’t step and app to share outside your network, did you?

Plus do you have anything in Public folder?

Sorry don’t understand comment?

Inside the Web OS of the NAS there is apps you can install. The apps that you can see and install direct, none do what I want.

The only setting is to put HDD to sleep at 20m, 30m, 60m etc. But the NAS is still on and noisy.

Well it then depends on what apps you have installed keeping the NAS running? Check out all those apps with some kind of activity each app is setup for communication to Web!

Plex is only app have installed on it to “serve” media to my Apple TV’s. It just runs in background as such though.

I just want an app that will shutdown NAS at say 1am, boot it up at 6pm.

Then get the NAS and look at activities and power times! Plus in Plex do Plex anywhere service running?

There isn’t an app on the NAS as above, that’s the problem I have.

The only option is to power down HDD after 20m which is on

Just checked mine doesn’t have that option. Looked in manual as well, only had the switch off HDD after xx minutes.

That link says business storage, mine is just the standard personal cloud.

Thanks

Then just use the **** off when your not home unless you want run a VPN Server to use a VPN client laptop or smart phone client VPN!
