I find the reflective nature of the screen is an issue in my world. I buy the Plastic, satin finish screen protectors and apply them to take away some glare. I'd be more than happy if Apple had optional satin finish Glare free glass screens. This is my best way to deal with it. Now... Knowing I just ordered a 14 Pro Max... I'm not certain I'll like the screen protectors... but will try out at least one or two likely on receipt. I already have a Case coming, and will probably buy at least one screen protector to have ready. Delivery date November 1 is the projection. So some options may change by then.

Not OP but I have a silly follow-up question for anyone who'd be interested in replying. Why do 'average' people put screen protectors on their phones? Not 'I work a physical job and my phone gets beat up all day' people, but 'I work in an office and the worst thing my phone will see is the keys in my pocket and some lint' people. The iPhone screen was famously designed to not scratch from the original model and its only gotten better since then.

I get why people who need to stop it from getting broken put thick screen covers on, and why people who are worried about dropping phones put cases on, but why do people put those thin plastic covers on their screens?

Why would you need to wipe down?
I always put a screen protector on when I buy a phone. I have just bought an iPhone 12 mini and went straight to an apple store and got them to fit one.
It wasn’t cheap but it is fitted perfectly and worth the money.
You can get really cheap ones now that come with a plastic installer which makes installation almost impossible to mess up. I had my dog crawling all over me for attention and I just slapped my new screen protector on my new 14 pro in about a minute. $10 for two protectors.

For me, I hate when the oleophobic coating wears off and you have smudges galore. A new screen protector gives that new screen feeling again.

I have a silly question when placing a new screen protector on a new phone out of the box so you still clean the screen first or since it’s straight out of the box you don’t worry about it.
I buy the protector from the Apple Store. They have a device that apples it perfectly. In home I still clean it because there is always stuff floating in the air that you can’t see that could end up on the glass if you aren’t quick enough.
