OK, first admission, I'm a newbie. But I've gone through the forums so as not to ask repeat questions, but this seems to be a new one. I've recently bought a first generation iphone running 2.1 and want to unlock it. I downloaded pwnage 2.1 and watched tutorials, etc. At first, I had problems because it wouldn't recognize the bootloaders 3.9 and 4.6, but then through the forums I saw that I needed to copy the pwnage folder to my applications file. No problem, did that. But when I started up again, this time it didn't even scan for/ask me for the bootloader files, and began creating the .ipsw file without asking "are you a legit iPhone user", etc. Scary? What's happening here, and what should I do? By the way, to make sure the program didn't automatically recognize/incorporate the bootloader files behind the scenes, I trashed them and started without any downloaded, and it still went right to the "creating a file" step.

I had that problem then I also realized that Pwnage had to be run from the desktop or Applications folder.

As for Pwnage not asking you for Bootloaders, don't worry. It found them on your computer and never told you. That's all.

Really? Even though I trashed the bootloaders and emptied the trash to test that theory? How could it find them if I got rid of all my bootloader downloads?
