I've heard that when you go into an AT&T or Apple store they pretty much make you activate your iPhone right there.

Will PWNAGE work on an activated iPhone?

Which has better applications. The App Store provided by Apple or the Installer application? Is one a better option over the other?

And... (I swear this is the last one) What benefits does jailbreaking an iPhone have over just leaving it be? I'm not too interested in Unlocking it so it works on other networks.

I hope this is the right place to post this...

I think you will be able to use the appstore and installer on jail broken phones.

I can't answer all of those but can provide some insight.

It's tough to say which has "better" applications. The ones from the App Store will have been approved by Apple, that doesn't make them better though... apparently even some of the Apps in the App Store have be bug-riddled. I think you're more likely to see official apps from big companies in the App Store while Installer apps will be more for individual developers. Examples are AIM and TomTom (if they release it). I just don't see why/how those kind of companies would release apps for Installer and not for the App Store.

The advantage for jailbreaking is to get Installer. There are going to be a lot of useful apps that won't be part of Apple's approved-list (for various reasons). So by having Installer you'll be able to add those kind of apps as well.

    - Yeah, in some stores. You'll just have to see.

    - It's not out yet so noone knows for sure, but I'm sure you can use it on an activated iPhone..

    - They're different from eachother. Installer may have some apps that Apple wouldn't approve of, however all the apps on App Store have been tested and you can be more sure they will actually work and not screw things up. When you do get to jailbreak your phone you'll most likely have both.

    - Jailbreaking will let you install apps that Apple wouldn't approve of. You may decide for yourself if you think that it's a good or "bad" thing. You may **** up your phone. However you have somewhat more freedom.

    - Yup.
