I use Komodo as a good ide for all my Python and wxPython programming. Definately to be recommended.
As a tutorial there's no better than wxPython in Action by Noel Rappin and Robin Dunn. Superb book and worth every penny. It'll have you writing wxPython programs in no time. I don't recommend many books but this is very good indeed.
