Since upgrading to Snow Leopard (I'm on 10.6.1 now), I'm finding that the ⌘-Q keyboard shortcut doesn't always work. It's inconsistent; when it doesn't work, just picking Quit from the File menu always works, so it's not that the apps are hanging. Furthermore, this seems to only be on my iMac; my MacBook is unaffected. Any suggestions?

It's possible you're trying to use ⌘-Q on an application that isn't in focus. Make sure the toolbar at the top shows the name of the app you're trying to quit.
