Quad core imac?

i was kind of expecting to see a quad core imac, they can't be to far away can they?

iMacs use laptop components...quad-core laptop chips aren't even on the market yet...

Actually they are very far away... at least 2-3 chip refreshes before we MAY see them.

Unless of course APPLE stop using these GD laptop parts in DESKTOPS.

Well with this release i'd imagine it has pushed back that possibility by about 6 months. Assuming there is an available chip actually made by intel.

Can I expect a quad core Mac by summer next year or before the Back to School thing next year?

i'm not even sure a quad core chip in an enclosure like the current is a great idea 🙄
