Hi. My Quad G5 (running Leopard, latest downloads) has an odd issue. It had it on Tiger also, so I don't think Leopard is the issue.

Any discs I burn on this machine will work fine on any other machine, but if I then try to read them on the Quad, it thinks they are empty. This is with the built in software, Toast, anything.

I've run a lens cleaner through it. The drive is a:

HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4165B if that helps?

Any help would be great, it's getting frustrating to have to read things over a network!

Take care, L.

Sounds like your dvd drive is failing.
Your best bet is to get it replaced, is it still under apple warranty?
You can just buy a new one from new egg or owc their usually under $60
