I read this article about protecting a computer from malware and it suggests Quad9 (among others) for DNS. Is this legit?

Probably, but have not it those yet.

I have been using OpenDNS for years, and my wife's machine has picked up adware/malware several times...but it is hard to say way what it hasn't picked up. They got bought by Cisco some time back, so it might be time for change.

BTW.....She works from home and does web advertising stuff, and has to check alot of pages/sites, so her machine is a really good target.

Will have to try Quad9 and CloudFlare and see how they behave.
