PLEASE ACTUALLY READ THE QUESTION.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT HARDWARE VS. HARDWARE.
This about if one card has any better support (OS OEM/drivers) than the other. There's no doubt that the TITAN X has superior hardware but is it worth getting if that hardware is hampered by the OS. I want to know about the actual compatibility that's achievable for each card within the current macOS.
Questions regarding these items:
- GeForce GTX TITAN X (MacVidCards, EFI)
- Quadro K5000 for Mac (genuine, non-flashed)
- Mac Pro 5,1
- macOS Sierra
I have the option to get either card right now, since the Quadro was (sort of) an OEM option for the Mac Pro, would be the smarter card to go with even though it's hardware is older. What good is the TITAN's hardware if it's limited or not fully supported? Are there other factors I'm not considering that would make it preferable over the Quadro? Initial questions, I'm sure there will be more:
- Is the Quadro K5000's hardware any better supported or better abled to be utilized fully than the TITAN X when factoring in any restraints or limitations of macOS?
- Since the both cards require the same Quadro web-drivers, are they both theoretically capable of achieving the same potential within the OS?
