Is anybody holding off for a new phone until qualcomm QC modems are back in the phone....?
Since iphones will have QC next year:

Will all phones be QC modems?
Will all phones be 5G ?

I’m holding off upgrading my XS Max until Qualcomm is back in iPhones. As far as 5G, I don’t know if they’ll be in 2020’s iPhones.

I’ll see what is offered this September but most rumors point to a very unexciting update this year—perhaps the most boring ever. That being said, I’m itching for a new iPhone.

Qualcomm has a superior modem but I could live with Intel if Apple made more of an effort elsewhere. Maybe we’ll all be surprised.

Yes. I will not buy another iPhone unless Qualcomm installed.

You can get an iPhone with a Qualcomm modem right now. Buy the Sprint, Verizon or Apple store model.

What is the point of this thread?

Same here. I am completely against Intel modems and WILL NOT upgrade from my Qualcomm iPhone X until Apple releases an iPhone with a Qualcomm chip.

Random topic but I will miss 3D Touch. They yanked it from current devices that have the hardware for it and it irritates me.

But yeah, no Qualcomm modem, no upgrade.

Correct... but it’ll be an older model. The 2018 iPhones do not have Qualcomm modems at all. Only Intel.

I'm holding off for a number of reasons but I would prefer the next iPhone I buy have a Qualcomm modem or an Apple developed modem.

I’m just holding off until the phone is paid for.... they are just too damn expensive to upgrade every year

I’ll consider it on my last month of AppleCare

I won't upgrade until Qualcomm, because we know that's happening in 2020 anyway.

That said, my Verizon Intel modem in my Xs is fine and hasn't dropped a call. Nonetheless, I still don't like knowing that there is better equipment out there that could've (and should've) been in this phone. Hopefully this is the first and last Intel iPhone I ever have.

My first iPhone XS Max Intel modem (AT&T) drove me away from iPhone. I missed it and came back but my second iPhone XS Max is much better.
