This thread is not a Qualcomm vs. Intel argument, so lets try to keep it civil. This is about discussing and analyzing the data that SpeedSmart has accumulated from their app. Thankfully dlewis23 from SpeedSmart has agreed to provide more input and answer any questions we have while discussing the data and findings. With about 8500 and 7000 total tests, there are more data points than most of us have access to. Obviously there are YMMV conditions when running these tests, but the amount of data collected should be informative and help us understand which modem is best for each user's situation. There is also a discussion on Reddit about this data.
Here is a blog entry from SpeedSmart from the data they have collected from iPhone X users.

While I am not related to the company, I think it would help to download the app and run a test to provide some data points.
Again, this is not a Qualcomm-Intel pissing contest. While both phones are pretty much equal, there are factors as to which modem would be more useful to you based on your carrier or coverage. One question I would like answered and is probably more important than data speed is reception quality. The data SpeedSmart has may or may not be able to answer that, but that is something I would like to find out.
