The way I see it, moving to 64-Bit was good for the consumers mainly.

You wont notice much difference now, maybe just a bit more in a year from now, but this is the start of something good for smartphones in general, in the long run.

There's no need for me to go on about the benefits of moving to 64 bit, because they've all been stated repeatedly by people that know what they are talking about.

The point is, making this change now rather than a year or two from now is for the best. Maybe this was even a bit late? Progress seems to be coming pretty slow.

It is a marketing gimmick. Guys, lets face it, specs really don't mean much anymore. The iPhone 5S still only has 1GB of ram, weak ram I might add, and a dual core 64 bit CPU, the 64 bit doesn't help it jump past a normal arc with 3GB/2GB with a OCTA CORE or QUAD Core.

Just look at the article just posted! The 5S (with it's "amazing" 64 bit arc) crashes 50% more than the 5C and 5, that don't have 64 bit! LOOK, that speaks for itself. It is a marketing gimmick, that all manufactures will now jump on board, just as QUAD Core was, after HTC did it, samsung etc followed, look where it got samsung. ALMOST 50% MARKET SHARE, along with their other crappy gimmicks. That is why QC said they are doing it, FOR MARKETING.

The only CPU change that hasn't been a marketing plow, and is actually useful is multi-core,QUAD CORE is really useful for multitasking, for all you out there, iPhone's do not have true multitasking, apps cannot run in background, they have to be open (like in the "multitasking window"), AND the X8 Motorola Architecture, which saves battery A LOT, allows a new, improved way of notif's and allows for always listening....ALL WITHOUT BATTERY DRAIN.
