I have a 'smart TV', I just didn't enable any of the features (or at least didn't enable them specifically. Could they be stealthily enabled? Hmm) and seem happy with it. It wasn't a 'cheap' TV, so maybe they made enough money off of them that my 'data' isn't needed to offset the cost. I mean, yikes. Friends told me they LOVED their Vizio TV's, but I'm not going to by a loss leader POS TV, and not have doubts about it listening to me... I read of a guy, IFixIt style, that physically muted his TV. He removed all the microphones from it. Not exactly a bad idea. Especially for a future where our rights will become as rare as hen's teeth most likely...
