It definitely is qualcomm but i'm hoping it's the X60 rather than the X55 modem
So what difference is that, I am wondering if Qualcomm modem would give me better LTE — no 5G likely near my house on edge of a 130K small urban area that does not have 5G . If it does I might take my upgrade if not may wait another year for improvements.I just did a Google search about that - sources are reporting Apple went with the X55.
Hmm thanks that is interesting just what I suspected so even if several years out in our area for good 5G of any type, my LTE might be greatly improved. The discussion on the camera improvments was also much clearer and now makes me think I would like the improvements more than I suspected over my 11 pro max. Well count me leaning towards upgrading but at least I have a bit of time and hopefully more reviews to help me finally decide...There are supposed improvements to LTE as well. In the event there was a display, and confirmed by MaxTech on one of his videos, that the LTE performance has been improved and is up to 2x faster from up to 1 Gbps to up to 2 Gbps:

What’s the main difference between the two?
We’ve known it’s Qualcomm X55 since spring.
Yeah I posted about that above, probably just as you were posting your message. People didn’t believe that report because they were DigiTimes and the timing didn’t make any sense. High volume X60 is targeted for 2021 phones.X60 manufactured on 5nm process for power savings. Also it's able to aggregate sub 6 and mmwave for more bandwidth.
There was a report during summer that the iPhone would use the X60 rather than the X55. https://www.macrumors.com/2020/06/18/iphone-12-x60-5g-modem-digitimes/
That's completely unrealistic.
First, 5nm capacity doesn't come from thin air. And if Qualcomm were shipping X60 today, they wouldn't tell everyone they expect the first smartphones to arrive in 2021.
That is very likely, and it should be accompanied by lower 5G power utilization.Hopefully X60 next year.
