Qualcomm is essential and American like Boeing, Lockheed, GE, etc. while Apple is just a front for off-shore made, off-shore tax evasion, license payment evasion and the list goes on. If Qualcomm prevail American engineering talent and jobs will be saved otherwise fanboys and their future generations will all be jobless or have low end retail jobs if Apple prevail.

Umm, all Apple products are engineered in California, last time I checked it was still part of the US. They are manufactured overseas but so are Qualcomm chips

If my memory serves me correctly, Qualcomm's chips are now made in US in Samsung's fab plants in Austin, TX.

Remember when Timmy told CBS that "the engine for the iPhone and the iPad are built in the U.S. in Austin, Texas" (by Samsung)? Apple quickly ditched their US manufacturing after that interview and moved it to Taiwan! Their AP design team is also located in Austin, TX IIRC. MAGA! LOL!

Only about 25% of Qualcomm profit comes from chips; most is from IP.

It's the opposite with Apple. ~90% of its revenue comes from hardware sales, and it's a good guess that so does the majority if its profits.

Qualcomm could totally drop its fairly recent chip making sideline and still be essentially the same company as it started. If Apple stopped selling all its hardware, there wouldn't be much reason for the rest of the company's software sevices to exist.

If not for Tim they’d never have been able to sell product in the volumes they do.

Yeah, with Steve they'd obviously sell a lot more to more diverse people. Remember all the switchers? Well they're switching back in droves. Or just not doing anything. Such a shame.

All the trends look good for the iPhone. The younger you go, the more dominant the iPhone's market share is (in the US anyway). That looks very, very good for the future.

Actually not, according to www.statista.com their new phone sales are shrinking.
According to Kantar, Samsung has a bigger marketshare. And that's only a piece of Android.

What I'm seeing in actual store presence is lower excitement and demand. But that's ok, they'll surely make up the balance in Apple Pay and movie rentals.

In polls that have been done, the percentage of teens who say their next phone will be an iPhone increased from 74% to 81%, either of which is incredibly high. The trends for the future for Apple look very, very good.

There's less excitement over every new iPhone model, but Apple will continue to gain marketshare in the US against Android, and the whole story about the iPhone 8 lacking launch excitement is BS, as it will do just fine over the next couple of years as people upgrade their phones and just get whatever is on the store shelf, even though the early adopters have largely shunned it for the 8 Plus and X.

What polls? Where? I can pull all kinds of numbers out of the air too.

By the way, if it's all unicorns and rainbows, why this???
Apple Plummets to Lowest Ranking Ever in Glassdoor's Annual List of Best Places to Work

They need to address their internal issues, but that's a separate issue from selling iPhones.

It's from that weird site, ummmm, Macrumors.com

Unhappy workers, unsatisfactory products. I imagine when people complain about QC, it's probably because they are over working interns in China. So they are exhausted and missing things.

This is not their fault. Imagine all the tiny components and details required. You're tired, maybe hungry, it might be hot or cold, etc.

That's a totally different issue than whether people want to work at HQ in California. It's not an easy problem to deal with, as people want to work a ton of hours to bring money home to their families, but at the same time, there needs to be limits.

Qualcomm is actually doing consumers a favor by banning GSM only phones since they have crappier radios. Hopefully, this will force Apple to use better Qualcomm universal carrier radios. No reason you should be paying the same premium as everyone else but get crappier reception and throughput.

The point I'm making is that a company that takes care of its employees takes care of its customers. The less happy the employees are, the more issues there will be in all aspects of the company.

People don't always want to work more hours but if it's the difference between eating, paying bills, a roof over your head, job security, etc...

What do you think they'd do?

If that's what in fact happens, that would be a benefit to AT&T and T-Mobile customers.

Yeah, need to read this then you realize you need to read no further.
"76 percent of teens surveyed own an iPhone"

Really? Look around for yourself. I'm guessing they did the survey at Cupertino High School.

Looking around at younger people, I see a sea of iPhones and almost nothing else, so I absolutely believe those numbers.
