FYI,
8 gen 2 is a phone chip and it's already out (and will be in the Samsung S23)
8 gen 3 is the rumored 2024 phone chip in the linked article that should power the S24 and will compete with the A17, not with M series
8cx gen 3 is a laptop chip and is already out in the Surface pro 9 5G (not based on Nuvia)
8cx gen 4 is the next laptop chip that should be based on Nuvia, the one that should be compared to Apple M series, not to be confused with the 8 gen 3 in this thread (there are no benchmarks for that).

Thanks for this. I think the reason that the posts here are muddled is that a benchmark for a phone SoC was posted on the forum for Apple silicon Macs. I certainly missed that initially.
