I am looking to voiceover (with talking) an iMovie I made but am not happy with the quality of the internal microphone on my macbook pro. Can anyone make a recommendation for a quality external mic that I can use with my macbook pro? I am looking for something under $200. I appreciate and help or suggestions people have to offer.

Thanks,
Dave

I use an AKG Perception 200 at home for voiceover stuff and it sounds pretty decent. It's in your price range and worth checking out, in my opinion. I don't think I have any samples of it in use at the moment, though.

The Shure SM58 is a very versatile mic.

But you would need to have some sort of audio box with XLR ports to use it.

Here it is at B&H

How about M-Audio Music Producer USB. Works with Garage Band and has real nice frequency response and has a built in headphone jack for monitoring. It is about $99.00 at Best Buy.
