Does anyone have any suggestions for a high quality wallet that doesn't mar cards that are stored in it?

After reading the article below telling everyone to chill, I looked at my plastic credit cards and saw that they are ALL scuffed and/or scratched. As I'm able to comprehend that Apple's info regarding card storage doesn't mean the sky is falling, rather they know people will complain that their shiny new white cards will get scuffed up in a cheap wallet so they offered info on how to keep it looking pristine. This made me realize my old leather wallet will probably ruin it in no time.

So, if anyone has suggestions on a good wallet, maybe one that's cleverly designed to be slim, it would be appreciated.

"Please, for the love of God, shut up about the Apple Card getting ruined by leather and denim"

I took mine out of my wallet. It was clearly not designed to be swiped or inserted repeatedly so I'm embracing its true purpose (of giving me the warm-and-fuzzies and validation that I spend money)

Realistically, if you use any decent wallet that has dividers, you'll get most of your wear and tear from inserting your card into card readers and swiping than from keeping them in your wallet. But I use one like this and I really like it:

It's the Louis Vuitton Damier Infini Multiple Wallet in Vert Acide. I have the Slender Wallet, which doesn't have the banknote divider and the card holders are symmetrical. Both are very slim and the leather is very soft. It's no longer made in this color, as it was limited to one summer, but the darker colors they offer now are easier to keep clean anyway. They offer complimentary hot stamping of your initials on them too.

I use mine almost everyday and sometimes several times a day. No issue yet.

But, I don't care. I always have another card on me. And when/if AC goes, I will just order another one.

Not paying for anything extra to carry a credit card----

Most of the damage would be from using the card in the swiping and chip machines anyways.

I have seen a few people mention wanting to keep their cards looking nice, and I just don't get it. I am not putting those people down, as I am sure there is plenty of stuff that I am into that other people don't understand.

It kind of reminds me of some people I know that buy pick up trucks, but will never actually use the bed for anything. Although in the case of a truck, it is actually of something with value.

I just don't find a credit card, something that almost anyone can get, as something special.

My Coach wallet does not stain or mark up any of my metal cards - Apple Card is identical to the Petal card and it has not discolored. The Amex Plat card has never gotten any damage.

So far so good with metal cards in a Coach leather wallet:

I would guess that using a CC in the CC machines would put much more wear on the card than a relatively soft and protective wallet.

This right here ^^^ My cards show all kinds of marks and all of the deep-ish ones are obviously from being swiped or inserted into readers. It's just life. If you want to keep the Apple Card clear(er), you could get some cheap card sleeves. But, as others have pointed out, as soon as you start actually using the physical card the readers are going to put tracks and gouges in the finish.

That DBRAND makes everything to cover / protect anything.
I can't see myself spending $10 plus shipping to protect the Apple card.
Unless you have a obsessive / compulsive disorder, I'd just call GS to get a replacement....

They do make cool iPhone covers which I am considering.

Thanks @dwfaust

Yes, it does seem excessive... unless one is OCD... :D

I needed a new wallet anyway. It gave me the excuse to finally grab one. haha

I went with the slimfold softshell.

Don't worry about this. Just a heads up. :D

It's Apples fault with that unfortunate support document. That document is either a twisted marketing ploy, or shortsighted boilerplate. In other words, either it's evil or stupid. :D

If Apple made a support document telling you jump off a cliff, there would be a discussion here about which cliff.

Hardcore mode would be a Hermés wallet, in whatever color to match the AW.

(I have a Fossil leather wallet, no issues so far, knock on titanium.)

It would need to leave the magnetic strip exposed, so the part of the card above the strip would show wear and tear. Also, I wonder if it's thick enough to interfere with inserting the chip into readers?

Also - I don't see a 'clear' option, am I missing it? All of those are colored.

Honestly I think the white goes with any color. The problem is matching the wallet with your other cards. The Citizen Twill in bleu hydra is probably the most versatile in my opinion that isn't black or brown.
