Recently I finally got myself a 667MHz VGA TiBook. This model of course has the 16MB Radeon Mobility card rather than the older Rage128 or DVI model's Radeon 7500. I have Leopard installed on it, but noticed System Profiler indicates Quartz Extreme is not supported. This machine SHOULD support it no? Unless I am mistaken, QE requires 16MB of VRAM on an AGP bus which is exactly what this machine sports. Is System Profiler checking for QuartzGL instead?

Interesting. Do you recall if you updated from a previous OS or was that a clean install? Looks like you're running Tiger correct?

Yeah, that partition is Tiger. Clean install from a retail 10.4.6 DVD, then updated to 10.4.11

Also got another partition with the original shipping OS's on there.

Even on my 1ghz it is not supported... I guess it's because I installed in Tagret disk mode because the native install failed every time with an io exception error

That’s really odd. I may attempt a clean 10.4 install and see if that works, then upgrade to Leopard via Target Disk boot and see if that’ll keep QE working. My 667MHz DVI TiBook has no issues with Quartz Extreme under its Leopard install which was done in Target Disk mode.

That TiBook is a bit odd, really odd :D I can't get it to boot any of my CDs, DVDs, FW drives except for the 1.67 Panther DVD :D everything I try it, I get an IO exception sooner or later. I hope there is something wrong with the hard-drive and not any other component
