    Hi,

My sisters iPhone 5 home button has become loose, you can spin it around and if you apply pressure to either side, part of it is revealed. Out of warranty last Tuesday.

She went to the Genius Bar, and they said that the whole screen would need to be replaced ~£120 (no damage to the screen though)?

    Is this correct?

When I had a home button replaced on my iPhone 5, in the Apple Store, it was a piece along the bottom hat was replaced, separate front he screen.

I'm not sure how much it cost though, as my repair was under warranty.

    That doesn't sound right.
The home button replacement is a separate repair than the screen and separate lower charge here in the US Apple stores.

If there's no visible damage, ask to make a claim under EU law:

    https://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/

I did this earlier this year for my 5's lock button and they were very helpful. Got a replacement even after warranty had expired.
