question: 3gs, can i put it back to 4.0?

i updated my 3gs to the newest 4.1 update and it is horrible, the "new" algorithym set for the bars is horrible and where i use to actually have coverage, and yes 3-4 bars would show up and i could make calls and crap like that, now only shows 1 bar and dropps every single time i try to make a call at areas in town that i use to be able to talk/.

question (i have searched a bit)

is it possible if the phone is not jb, do restore the phone to an earlier version of the software such as 4.0 or earlier?

if so how would one go about doing this?

i have tried and used RecBoot, but it did not take me outa dfu mode, and i eventually just had to do a restore into 4.1 again.

any info would be appreciated!

No unfortunately unless you had your SHSH saved for 4.0, you can't downgrade it.
