I ordered the Brain Cell today, so it will probably get here around the day my PB arrives next week. I think eventually when I recover from my Mac investment I will get the ID Bag from Bihn which holds the Brain Cell along with other goodies.
Originally posted by joeyjojoe I see what you mean. Its true I can't see into the future, but judging by the past I think its probable that the bag won't be dropped.
Even then, could you recommend a laptop bag that isn't $150? I'm willing to spend up to $80, but after that it gets ridiculous. The bag doesn't protect against nuclear fallout, I don't see why extra padding should drive the price up so high.
I also have the Brenthaven backpack but I usually use my Blurr shoulder bag because it's smaller, lighter, and looks cooler. I only use my Brenthaven now if I really need something with larger capacity.
Other than the Waterfield, is there another maker of sleeves that's adequate for me to throw into a regular school backpack without any trouble?
Cost is a factor, but its really that I love my Mountain Equipment Co-op backpack, which has no padding on the bottom of it. I thought the Waterfield would be adequate, but after reading around here, it sounds better to either get a new backpack, or get another sleeve.
Yeah! I own the iBook "Whumph" and carry my 12" PowerBook in it. Willow makes the best cases I've ever seen for a very reasonable cost.
Mine's a top-loading case that fits in my backpack, and provides excellent protection for the PowerBook. It also comes with a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship.
They aren't the fanciest-looking packs, but after evaluating many options to protect my investment, I don't think I'll buy anyone else's cases again. Best-kept secret.
