Question about a charging MBP

When a MBP is charging, and you have the battery indicator set to show the time, are the numbers supposed to be counting down?
 
The time until it's charged.

When you're running on battery power it's the time remaining on the battery.
 
Ok, thanks. That's what I thought it's just that I don't recall my previous MBP doing that... maybe I just forgot.
