I bought a Macbook and Applecare for it from my school's computer store.

They gave me Applecare for ibook. Can I use that for my macbook or should i go back and request for macbook's applecare?

Thanks

It's perfectly normal. The MacBook was the iBook replacement, so the AppleCare is the same.

if you purchase a imac off ebay, and it is used, can you buy apple care for it?
If it's less than one year old (i.e., was originally purchased from Apple less than a year ago), yes. Otherwise, no. And, if you do buy it, it (Applecare) needs to be registered for that Mac - again, within that first year after initial Apple purchase of the iMac.
