I got 32g at&t ipads with 3G. I don't see 3G icon on upper corner by the bars. How do I know I am connected to 3G? On my iphone I see 3G by the bars and I could turn off 3G if I wanted to.

Wifi supercedes 3G. Turn Wifi antenna off to access 3G. assuming you paid ATT for 3G service??

Did you activate 3G or did you just turn on your iPad and expect it to be 3G?

As stated, wifi will take precedence. Is your phone connected to your wifi at home? My iPhone 4 will show 3G when I am out and about, but the wifi icon in the same place when I am at home. 3G does not show when the wifi icon is active.

Thank you. It worked, when I turned off wifi. Yes I paid fro 3G through at&t.

The others are right and WiFi will be used over 3G unless you turn off WiFi.

I know you were only testing but I keep my 3G turned off unless I am going out in the field.
