Hi all,

I have decided to turn off auto brightness as it never seems to be how I like it, and doesn't seem to adapt when you adjust it like iOS does.

However when I close the lid and reopen, the screen is darker and I have to push it up manually again. I have double checked and auto brightness is off. How do I stop this from happening?

Are you sure it's not because of running on power vs battery? That's the only other thing I can think of that would cause something like that.

Its when its running on battery but the battery isn't low. Just annoying having to manually boost it up each time I open the lid defeats the purpose of it. I just want it to stay where it is.

Make sure the first battery option is not ticked. If you have it ticked, the screen will act as you noted even if the battery has a lot of charge left.
