iOS question about button in iPHone

I am making a button at view controller A such that the button will remember its status for the last time I clicked.... For example. at initialization at A, the status of button is **un-ticked**...So when I click on it, the status is set to **ticked**.....Now I am at view controller B.. when I am back it A.. the status of my button is un-ticked....
You guys know how to make my button remember its last status Please advice me on this issue.
