My macbook is now fully charged, and I understand it needs to stay in this state, plugged in for two hours...
After that will it be ok to unplug it just shut the lid and let it sleep, and then come back to it this evening and deplete the battery?

    Thanks for any advice. :)

Yep, that's fine. Sleeping will (slightly) deplete the battery anyway. :)

just to clarify, you unplug and then deplete the battery until it goes to sleep. let it sleep for five hours and then recharge.

yeah i did get that, but i needed to let it run, and seeing as i was going out, i wanted to close the lid.. which MAKES it sleep.

It doesnt matter anyway, i used Insomnia X, which worked fine.

...And to further clarify: sleeping is a form of depletion, albeit very slow.
