I recently placed an order on Apple.com for a 6 plus through AT&T Next. If I would find one locally and cancel before the online order ships. How long does it take for my eligibility to return to my AT&T account?

bump!

Hi guys. Can someone please answer this question? I have an order pending on apple.com for an AT&T Next upgrade for 6+ 64GB SG and the model appeared in stock at my local retail store. The online order is back ordered for 3 weeks. Thanks! Much appreciated.

Usually once you cancel the order from apple.com. Your eligibility should be back. I pre-ordered mine prior to launch day using AT&T Next. I decided to check Apple store on launch day and they had the 6 Plus available so I put a reservation and then I cancelled the online order. I got my eligibility back in less than 5 minutes as I checked.

But on the other hand I've heard some unlucky stories. I've heard some stories where people did the same exact thing, and did not get their eligibility back right away. And they had to walk way without a phone. You can however cancel the online order while at the apple store, because they have a way to fix the issue and if they can't they can call AT&T on the spot and fix it.

Hey, I did that last night and my eligibility still hasn't been reversed. I called AT&T and they told me it would take 72hrs for my line to be eligible again, so do it at your own risk.

DO NOT CANCLE THE ONLINE ORDER. The same thing happened to me, I had an online order but found one available for in store pick up. By the time I canceled the online order and tried to put one in for the in store phone, it had been sold. Now I don't have any order bc they cant redo the original one and I do not want to be placed at the end of the line for 3-4 weeks that the online order will take.

My advice, be patient and stick with your original order

Hey everyone! I have exciting news... so I went ahead and cancelled my Apple.com AT&T Next 6+ SG 64GB order that was slated for shipment the week of November 11th (I simply could not wait that long! ;)) South Florida had stock this morning in nearly all stores, and I was on a mission to get one. After about 10 minutes my device eligibility was reinstated; I called AT&T just to be certain and they told me it's automated and the system takes some time to refresh, then you should be able to initiate a new upgrade transaction.

Next step was to select a store for pickup and you CANNOT reserve online for AT&T Next, so I was forced to choose the 2-year contract option (with no real intention on upgrading outside of Next). When I arrived they scanned my pickup QR code and brought out the device. I convinced them to do an OPEN BOX return, so the device would not go back into the general lot of inventory. In all it took about 45 mins to complete the process, it's quite clumsy but I was able to finance the device through AT&T Next.

Currently booting up the phone and restoring from iCloud. It's looks incredible! GLTA on your quest to secure one.

Im happy for you. I wish this process would be as easy for me. So far, have seen the pick up in store option available 5 time at my local 3 malls. EVERY time, by the time I get the order in, it gives me an error screen bc it gets sold out. That's even though a already have my cart set up an everything, so it maybe takes a total of 3 mins to put the order through

The in store inventory has improved significantly over the last week, especially for the 6 Plus. Up to you but if you monitor iStockNow you should be able to secure your preferred device well before the online order would ship. Good luck.

DON'T CANCEL THE ONLINE ORDER!!! You are taking a risk and it's highly likely you will get your phone long before the expected date.

Question about Cancelling Apple.com Order

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been trying to get a 6 Plus for my mom but every time I checkout I get the error screen. This has happened about 7+ times now, it's pretty frustrating.

Even when I get the email alert from istocknow and run to the computer to complete checkout the phones already sold.

I guess it's worth mentioning that there are 8 Apple retail stores (South Florida) located within a 70 mile radius from my house, so my odds of finding a device in stock were exponentially greater than someone in a less populated locale. But I can evidence that cancelling the online order and reserving for in store pickup did indeed work, and I even upgraded through AT&T Next.

PS: I've had the 6 Plus for 2 days now and it's magical! While the screen size is a bit intimidating at first, the overall shock factor fades rather quickly and it's simply a joy to operate. I couldn't imagine going back to the 4" screen. In the end, it's obviously a personal preference but I'm very happy with my decision to go the 6 Plus route. The one decision I'm second guessing was my pre-order for an iPad Air 2... do we really need the tablet with these phablets in hand?! GLTA!
