question about cingular and AT&T

Does anyone know how soon the transition from cingular to AT&T is going to happen? I am assuming that all cingular stuff will be rebranded to AT&T, right? I need a new phone soon, but I want to wait til the AT&T transition is complete first.

I thought I heard march, but check out Howardforums, they have all that info.

its just a name change. Cingular bought AT&T wireless years ago, and Cingular's name is changing as a result of its former parent company, SBC which is now AT&T (at least here in the midwest, as far as i know).

there really is no transition besides a re-branding so i'd say your safe to go at anytime.

Why would it matter? The new AT&T is still the part owner of Cingular just as it was when it was named SBC and BellSouth, now part of the new AT&T is the other owner.

Whatever you buy now will surely be accepted without a problem. 🙂
