Question about "Clamshell Mode"

I was wondering if there was a way to put a MacBook Pro 13" 2011 running lion into clamshell mode without the charger plugged in?

Maybe to drain the battery once in a while without re-opening it?

But Sleepless or InsomniaX (I prefer Sleepless) will work.
