We have connected our MBPs to both of our HDTVs using DVI on the one that supports it and HDMI on the other. You need a regular DVI monitor cable for one solution while HDMI requires either a DVI to HDMI cable of the DVI-HDMI adapter and a standard HDMI cable.

Audio must be run separately. I use the headphone jack with a cable matched to the connections on the HDTV.

Cheers,

the tv has 3 HDMI inputs.
