Has anyone tried the Corsair Vengeance memory model CMSX16GX4M1A2400C16 for 2017 iMac i7 4.2 memory upgrade?
This is a single module available in stock at Frys. I'll have to buy 2 sets.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Haven't used Corsair, but have used Crucial and OWC iMac-specific memory with 100% success. Using Crucial in my 2017 i7 4.2 right now.

Hi thanks for you reply.
Yes but that one is 2A. The one on frys is 1A single module. Best.

There are so many variations to RAM that it's those little tidbits that send me to brands that specifically test/certify/guarantee Mac compatibility.

I'd go with Crucial - they sell kits specifically advertised as compatible with particular iMac models which could save a lot of fuss if you do have problems:
http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Apple/imac-(retina-5k,-27-inch,-2017)-imac18,3

They're the retail outfit for one of the major RAM makers - micron - which was the same brand as the ones that came in my iMac.

(Note that they've stuffed up the system finder on the front page - go to the 'Upgrade my device" tab to get the one that works...

Hi theluggage, thanks for you suggestions. I just got the Corsair modules from frys. For now happy to report that they works fine on iMac i7 4.2 5k 2017. I took out the 2 4gb from mac so there is only 32Gb of memory.

If some problems arise I'll comment for sure. Thanks.

If you got only two 16GB modules you can leave the 2x4 in and you'll have 40GB, a common configuration.
