Question about Email

o.k. i just got a brand new MacBook 2.4ghz peryn and i want to set up an email account. but im having alot of problems... i already have a hotmail account... and i just want to be able to click on mail on my dock and have all of my mail. but every time i try to set up an account it never works i dont understand the STMP and outgoing server stuff. if anybody can help me set one up.... please do. and i know this is probably a really dumb problem for most people...

Microsoft aren't particularly good about letting people use non-Microsoft clients to check Hotmail accounts. However, some people have had varied luck using a plugin for Mail named httpmail.

ok thanks to both of you i downloaded it and set it up but there is a little icon on the inbox tap and when i click it it says "Could not connect to MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT service unavailable"
any ideas??
