question about exchanges

I got a apple watch in the steel.color for my birthday. I'm wondering if I can easily exchange it for a different color at the apple stoe? I am not sure where my sister bought it. It would be sealed of course. I seem to remember that the apple store was lenient about this.

Just ask your sister for the receipt.

Hope you're within your 14 day window with the receipt. They don't allow exchange (technically return then re-purchase the new model) outside of that.

Apple has never been lenient about exchanging for a different color, storage capacity, etc. outside the return period, but all retailers should be able to accept a return within the return period.
