I am just wondering if the Elgato EyeTV hybrid would work well with my mini. I assume the dongle doesn't do the encoding, so that would fall on my processor. Could a 1.66 ghz core duo handle encoding without many problems?

EDIT: I am also wondering if the Miglia TVMax would be better for recording TV. How do they compare?

have you considered the 250

i'm sure you know this already, but the 250 is only about $50 bucks more and the encoding is on it, not your computer. It's still small enough that I don't have a problem transporting it either. I would answer your question exactly, but I don't have the hybrid

My 1.42 mini G4 does it just fine with 35 - 40 % processor usage. Recording or not doesn't make a difference, as it uses a Live TV buffer (always recording that is).

edit: this is DTT, haven't tried analog yet, don't think i ever will ;)
