I didn't think the latest device was compatible with old iOS. Like the 5s won't allow iOS 6.

First off it was never possible to downgrade a device to an os that was never built for it, second shsh has never worked on a device they weren't from, and third shsh doesn't work on iOS 7 anymore anyway.
