question about gpu's with bootcamp.

how does the gpu switching between integrated and dedicated work in Windows?

i never want my MacBook to use the dedicated gpu because it is known to fail..
i have a 15" Late 2011 MacBook Pro.

GPU switching is not supported in Windows (bootcamp or otherwise). Only the dGPU (ATI) is exposed to the operating system.
