If youre not using the supplied apple headphones with the built in mic/remote is there any other way to skip a song other than to unlock the phone then switch it?

Not that I know of. Shure apparently is coming out with an adapter called the MPA (music phone adapter) that includes a microphone, but I'm not even sure if that one takes advantage of the play/pause and skip track functionality of the stock Apple headphones.
