Question about iCloud drive and old iPod Touch 3rd

Hello,

I'm getting ready to upgrade my Apple devices to iCloud drive, but I still have an old iPod Touch 3rd that can't upgrade (maxed on iOS6).

The two only iCloud-aware app I use on it are Calendar and Notes.

Is there a way to make those two apps work with iCloud drive, while my iPod remains on iOS6?

Edit: I upgraded my other machines to OS X 10.10 or iOS 8, as well as upgrading to iCloud drive, and discovered that the Calendar and Notes app on my iPod Touch (still on iOS 6), sync perfectly fine. Good work Apple!
