two questions actually, anyone know of a way on 4.2.1 to remove the icon shadows that are underneath the apps

also

since I jailbroke on 4.2.1 i no longer have shadows when i touch my apps... anyone know what causes this?

NoIconShadowsiPhone4

Is this for iBlank?

nah, the shadows just look weird when my current theme is applied... I have tried using the Iblank no icon shadows in winterboard but it doesnt work on 4.2.1 so I will try the one you suggested

hmm that one doesn't seem to work either, must be incompatible with the new firmware

ok i figured the shadow icons out, but still can't figure out why I have no shadows when I touch my apps... anyone?

Can you post a screenie?

Most springboard icons have renamed suffixes in 4.2.1, i.e. end with "@2x~iphone.png" instead of "@2x.png". Make sure you rename modified files with the "~iphone". Also...springboard moved to /library/coreservices/springboard.app instead of /library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringBoardUI.framework.

Has anyone made a working winterboard theme for this in 4.2.1 to remove the icon shadows? I tried the using the instructions from the ^ website above but it did not work. I also tried renaming the file SBDockMask@2x~iphone.png but still had no luck. If anyone makes a working winterboard theme for this can you please post it? Thanks

The ones you have to rename are called WallpaperIconShadow@2x~iphone.png and wallpapericondock~iphone@2x or something along those lines

They are in the springboard.app folder

I managed to get rid of the icon shadows using the Glasklart HD theme. There is a separate hack in winterboard called 'Glasklart HD Icons Less Shadows' and as long as it's selected and placed ABOVE the Glasklart Icons theme in the list in Winterboard, it works just fine!

I don't know if that one theme file would work with other themes or not??? But you could try...

Major thanks to you for the trick re getting rid of icon shadows. I've spent hours changing/tweaking/experimenting and this did it in about 30 seconds. Much gratitude!!!:)
