So i Just ordered the GT 120 for my mac pro.

Ill be adding this to my pro which is already running a ATI 4870.

My question is as far as installation..... is it as simple as putting it in and turning the machine on?

I am a novice at installing a secondary card.

i did look around for answers but came up empty.

If i did miss the appropriate thread i apologize and would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Thanks for your help

IIRC, if the GT120 requires no additional power then what the PCIe bus can provide, then yes, turn machine off, plug in card, turn machine on. The GT120 should come with installation instructions. The 2009 MacPro has 2 x16 slots (1 and 2) and 2 x4 (electrical x16) slots (3 and 4) - if you have no other expansion cards in your MacPro besides the 4870 (slot 1), then slot 2 would be the best place to install.

It is as simple as plug-and-play. The GT120 requires no additional power, drivers, or anything. Install into the PCIe slot and go.

Great thats what i thought i just wanted to make sure. Thanks for your help
