Question about Installing Windows/Bootcamp

If I installed Windows XP to play a few games, then a month later could I remove it completely? Would it leave anything changed/damaged? Does it ruin my hard drive or something? Or can I install and uninstall Windows/Bootcamp as many times as I like and things won't deteriorate?
Also, does it do anything to my Mac OS partition? Does it mess anything up?

If you decide you don't want it anymore you can use disk utility to remove the partition and extend the mac partition back to its full size.
