Does Apple price their iPad refurbs for the same generation and specs exactly the same? Or can the price for the same iPad vary depending on cosmetic appearance (e.g. scuffs)?

There will never be scratches or scuffs on a refurbished Apple product. And so all the same items are priced the same.

Per Apple:

You will receive a “like new” device with genuine Apple replacement parts (as needed) that has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Refurbished iOS devices will come with new battery and outer shell. Every device will come with all accessories, cables and operating systems.1 All Apple Certified Refurbished products are packaged in a brand new white box and will be sent to you with free shipping and returns.

Apple's supposed to replace the chassis as part of the refurbishment process so it shouldn't have any scuffs.

Thanks, I was just wondering because I saw a really good deal from two months ago recently (looking at an old thread on another forum) on a 2nd gen iPad Pro 12.9" 64GB. I haven't seen anything close to that price since, so it made me wonder if that price was a black swan event, or if it was because it had cosmetic imperfections, or if all those specific models are actually priced the same as that.

So I should just keep checking their refurb page and wait for that specific model to show up again?

Absolutely.

It can drive you made though LOL you literally need to check it every day - multiple times. Their refurbs are very popular and in the past, I've seen a few options I liked - I hummed and hawed, then refresh and one of them is gone just like that.

And of course the more popular the model - the faster you'll see one... Good luck!

Their refurbs have very high praise around here - great way to save a few $!

Received my Mini 5 refurb yesterday, is absolutely immaculate. If the box hadn't said refurb I'd have thought it was brand new off the line.

Or you can always set an alert on Refurb.me and get an email whenever your wanted product becomes available. No need to check anymore. I‘ve used it to buy a few products now, works flawlessly every time.

Same here...waited for refurb mini 5's, snatched one up and use it every day. Just like brand new with same warranty. Couldn't be happier. I buy all my apple products refurbished and have never had the first problem with any of them.

I’ll probably wait until the refurbs on the next Mini, assuming of course that I like what comes along enough to want one. With this one I was on an iPad 3 so had already waited it out rather than picking up the 6th Gen in late 18/early 19. There seem to be less refurbs here in the UK, my config hasn’t shown up yet but there have been a few WiFi minis and loads of Air 3’s.

Might snatch up a refurb 6th Gen/10.2” at some stage. My old iPad 3 isn’t going to last forever even if the lag doesn’t bother the person using it. They prefer the larger screen.

UK refurb store refreshes around 1 - 1.30am. The ipad pro 11" and 12.9" don't last long when they show up, usually Thursday or Friday is when I notice stock.

My refurbished late 2018 iPad Pro 11 64gb WiFi arrived yesterday. Looked brand new. $550 Apple store plus extra 10% military Apple store discount. $494 price. Awesome deal.
