Question about iphone plan pricing when upgrading with another lines upgrade

If I upgrade to the iphone on a line that does NOT use the data package will we be required to pay the additional 29.99 on that line for the data or can we remove it from the line that was used to purchase the phone.


Basically

Bought the iphone with my dads upgrade (he does not use a data package)
Will he be locked into the iphone data plan and be required to pay those fees, or will I be able just move the phone over to my line without having to pay for the data packing on his line
 
Buying an iPhone at discounted prices doesn't mean the line being upgrade gets stuck. Just let the rep know what you are doing and that's it's your line that the data plan goes on.
