It comes with Snow Leopard installed, yes. You just input your personal information to set the computer up.

It comes with the disks to install Mac OS X and the iLife suite.

You can use the software that came in the box.

ok thx!

so to clarify i can just take out my macbook pro from the box n power it up?

The only 1 thing I can add to discussion above is hat for me (2 weeks ago) it came with snow leopard v 10.6.3, while there was 10.6.4 upgrade available, but this is easy to upgrade.)

i mean can u use the snow leopard disk on another pc? does it have a serial number? n if i have snow leopard 10.5 disc but i have a 10.6 snow leopard macbook pro can i still use the disc to install drivers for bootcamp?

You can use it on another computer as long as it is the exact same model of computer. No, it does not use a serial number, but there is a hardware compatibility check that the computer goes through before installation.

It doesn't have a serial key, no Apple software does (made by apple). So in theory you can use it on as many machines as you like (depending on your morals) but the disc will be macbook pro specific unlike when you purchase a retail copy of snow leopard.

You can use the Mac OS X disk that came with your computer to install the bootcamp drivers, yes.

No, it doesn't. Updating through software update does not touch your data.
