Hi,

I just got a new Macbook air.

Whenever I launch the Finder and click on the different "favorites" and also when I click Preferences>Trackpad, the mouse takes about 5 seconds before I can finally start using it.

It won't move or respond at all to any input.

Just wanted to know if this is normal or if there's something wrong with the Trackpad.

Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply.
Is there a way to fix this without having to return the laptop?

Did that.
They're having me reinstall the OS, which it's doing right now.

Hope this works.

:D I just had to physically laugh.
Thats what :apple: support always does. They tell you to reinstall the OS.
After some other basic attemps to fiddle with the software fail.
Instead of :apple:support you might as well post on here :D

Took the Air to my local Apple store and had them reinstall the os.
No way I'm going to sit there for hours and watch it download.
Anyway, after reinstalling the os the trackpad is operating as it should.
So......in this case the re-install did the trick.

Thanks
